Choosing a Shopify inventory app in 2026
If you sell physical goods on Shopify, picking the right inventory tool just got urgent. Shopify's free Stocky app is shutting down — it was delisted in February 2026 and stops working entirely on August 31, 2026. Who each tool is best for
StockPilot (early access) — Best for Shopify merchants doing roughly $10K–$200K/month with 50–2,000 SKUs who want AI forecasting and the full reorder workflow (PO → supplier lead times/MOQs → receiving) without GMV-based billing or annual contracts. Strongest fit if you're migrating off Stocky and want flat, predictable pricing. Caveat: it's not live yet — join the waitlist for early access.
Stocky — Was a solid free option for smaller Shopify Plus / POS Pro merchants, especially for basic purchasing. It's being discontinued (gone Aug 31, 2026), so it's no longer a viable long-term choice. Inventory Planner by Sage — Best for larger or more complex operations: multiple locations, multiple sales channels, and merchants who need deep, powerful planning and don't mind a higher price point or an annual commitment. Overkill for many small stores.
Prediko — Best for small-to-mid DTC brands who want modern AI forecasting and a clean interface, and who are comfortable with GMV-based pricing. Worth checking the cost at your revenue level, since billing scales with sales.
